Search for flower delivery in Huddersfield or Barnsley and you'll mostly find the same national names everyone else in the country sees. We're a family-run florist on Wakefield Road in Denby Dale, which sits between the two towns, and we deliver to both, plus the villages in between, most days of the week. This guide covers where we deliver, how it works, and a few things that help flowers arrive on the right doorstep first time.
Where We Deliver
From the studio in Denby Dale, we regularly deliver to:
- Huddersfield and the villages to the south and east of it: Holmfirth, Kirkburton, Shelley, Shepley, Kirkheaton and Emley
- Barnsley and Penistone
- The villages on our doorstep: Denby Dale, Skelmanthorpe, Scissett and Clayton West
If you're just outside that list, give us a call. We cover a wider area than we can fit into one list, and we'd rather check than turn you away.
How Our Delivery Works
- Free next day delivery on all orders over £30 across our local area.
- Arranged by hand before it leaves. Every order is made up by Lynn or a member of the team in Denby Dale, from stock we've chosen ourselves. It goes out finished: tied, wrapped and ready to hand straight over.
- A real local number. If you need to change a message, check a time or sort something out, you're talking to the people making your flowers, not a call centre.
We're rated 4.9 on Google, and we'd rather you read those reviews than take our word for it.
Every arrangement is built and boxed by hand in Denby Dale before it goes out, finished and ready to hand over.
Local Florist or National Website?
Big online flower services work well for what they are, but most are ordering platforms rather than florists. Your order is passed to whichever courier or affiliate covers the postcode that day, and some send boxed or "letterbox" flowers, packed flat for the post. Whoever answers the door then has to unwrap, trim and arrange the stems before they look anything like the photo.
That's not a scandal, just a different way of doing things. But if the point of sending flowers is that someone opens the door to something already beautiful, a local florist is the more reliable way to get there.
Hills, Lanes and Hard-to-Find Addresses
A lot of the area we cover isn't town centre. Up towards Holmfirth and the Peak District edge it's steep roads and hillside terraces. Around Penistone and the villages towards Barnsley, roads narrow quickly and one postcode can cover a wide spread of houses. Sat-navs don't always land on the right door, and it's the kind of address a large courier network tends to give up on and leave a card for.
Our driver doesn't work that way. If a lane's too tight for the van or an address is awkward to find, he'll park where he can and walk the last stretch rather than leave the flowers somewhere they might not be found. It's usually the difference between flowers arriving on the day they were meant to and a redelivery card through the door.

Help Us Get It There First Time
A few details when you order make a big difference, especially for rural addresses:
- The house name as well as the number, if it has one. Many village houses are known by name, not number.
- A landmark or directions for anywhere tucked away, such as "the farm track after the chapel" or "the cottage behind the pub".
- The recipient's phone number, so the driver can call if nobody answers or the address is hard to find. We won't use it to spoil a surprise.
- A safe place in case they're out, such as a porch, a neighbour or round the back.
- For workplaces, check when reception is staffed, as some offices close early on Fridays.
- For hospitals, check with the ward first. Many no longer allow flowers on wards, so a delivery to the patient's home for when they're back is often the better option.
Weddings, Funerals and Business Orders
Delivery for bigger occasions works a little differently. Wedding flowers are delivered and set up at the venue on the day. Funeral flowers usually go to the funeral director, so tell us the director's name and the date of the service, though we also deliver to crematoriums, churches and homes. Weekly office flowers and bulk business orders can be planned around your week. Our wedding flowers, funeral flowers and corporate flowers pages cover each one in more detail.
Common Questions
Do you deliver flowers to Huddersfield and Barnsley?
Yes. We're based in Denby Dale, between the two, and deliver to Huddersfield, Barnsley, Penistone, Holmfirth, Kirkburton, Skelmanthorpe, Scissett, Clayton West, Shelley, Shepley, Emley, Kirkheaton and Denby Dale itself. If you're just outside that list, call us and we'll check.
Is flower delivery free?
Yes. Local delivery is free and next day on all orders over £30 across our delivery area.
Can you deliver to hard-to-find or rural addresses?
Yes. Our driver knows the hills and villages around Huddersfield and Penistone well. If a lane is too narrow for the van, he'll park up and walk the last stretch rather than leave the flowers somewhere they might not be found. A house name, a landmark or the recipient's phone number always helps.
What's the difference between a local florist and an online flower delivery service?
Many national online services are ordering platforms that pass your order to a courier or affiliate, and some send boxed or letterbox flowers that need arranging on arrival. A local florist arranges the flowers by hand before they leave the shop, delivers them finished and ready to hand over, and has a real local number to call.
How do I order flower delivery?
Call us on 01484 868539 during shop hours (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9am to 5pm, Wednesday 9am to 2pm and Saturday 9am to 4pm), or send an enquiry through the contact form on our website.
